The story of Ramses, the Peruvian Hachiko, has recently made headlines on social media, touching the hearts of hundreds of people. Ramses, an adorable little dog, waited outside a hospital for three long days, hoping to see his father who had unfortunately passed away.
Leona Morris posted pictures of the dog outside the hospital on Facebook, stating:
"This dog is waiting for his human to come out, but unfortunately, his human passed away three days ago. He needs to find a temporary home as he is still waiting outside the Essalud hospital in Angamos."
The Heartwarming Rescue of Ramses
Magaly Periche and Carlos Zelad learned about Ramses' situation and decided to give him a second chance at life after the publication was shared more than 3,500 times on the same day. Magaly shared with El Comercio:
"When I read that the dog's owner had passed away and that the puppy had been waiting for him for three days, I thought poor little thing, no one is going to take him."
Although Ramses was not at the hospital when the couple arrived, they later learned that he was being taken care of at a neighboring restaurant. When they saw Ramses, his expression was incredibly dejected.
"Just a few weeks prior, Carlos and I had been considering adopting a puppy, but the regulations and paperwork required deterred us. But when we saw Ramses, we knew that there wouldn't be any more challenges with this dog," said Magaly.
"We found him lying on the ground, and others had come to view him, but they couldn't move him with anything but food. The restaurant owner even said that it appeared as though the dog had been abandoned to die of despair," added Carlos.
However, when Carlos said hello to Ramses, the dog stood up and wagged his tail. Carlos went down to the dog's level and started petting him, telling Magaly, "That's it, we'll take it," and that's exactly what they did. People called it a miracle.
